Bike Ride for Charity Last week I was busy taking images in the studio of Mike Saunders bike in aid of supporting his chosen charity the Air Ambulance. A charity that is well worth the support for the amazing work they do. I remember when living at my previous home, the air ambulance had to land on our land to enable they to assist in an accident that had occurred on the A52, what amazing people. Mike started cycling at the ripe old age of 63 and has taken part in many cycling events including London to Paris, the 3 cities which included London, Brugge and Amsterdam and the London 100 miles closed roads. In his wisdom he has chosen to once again do the London 100 mile closed roads and is raising morning for his chosen charity the London Air Ambulance. Londons Air Ambulance London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to critically injured people in London. The service provides pre-hospital medical care at the scene of the incident and serves the 10 million people who live, work and commute within the M25. The team, which at all times includes an advanced trauma doctor […]
A local up and coming band Adelphia used our studio to film their video for their track “Better Off”. The infinity cove was a great asset and enabled them to provide the type of background they required for this shoot.
Borneo here we come! Well Kuala Lumpur was a fab introduction to Malaysia and I wonder what Borneo has to offer. We were promptly collected from the hotel two camera bags laden with lenses……….well not sure how near or far those Orang- utan’s were going to be………… Motto “be prepared”. Two large suitcases and an extra large handbag we checked in and sat patiently waiting for ourflight. The transportation to our next destination was excellent, just what you hoped for. The outside of the hotel overlooking the harbour and sea, looked a little out dated but the rooms and lobbies were beautiful, everywhere immaculately clean and the people always greeted you warmly. Wow we wondered who the multi million dollar yacht belonged too as we sat having a drink overlooking the harbour, was it a celeb maybe a rich prince or just that multi billionaire! Ok later we found out it belonged to the hotel owner! The waterfront, a good place to eat they recommended so off we trotted to have our first prawns in Borneo. The following day was my birthday and we had planned a lazy day by the pool. As sunset began we sat drinking cocktails watching the […]
What a city, certainly exceeded all expectations and a great way to start the trip. Arriving at KL airport having flown on the A380 double decker plane a smooth transfer to our hotel, all was going well. Hello I wonder why there are earplugs at the side of the bed? Soon to find out as we took our first evening stroll was this really how you partied bar after bar, loud music getting louder and laughter and chatting everywhere. Certainly a vibrant and fun area but alas jet lag was setting in and time to get some sleep, would we require the earplugs, far too tired to notice any noise. Up bright and breezy, now to start exploring. Armed with camera we set off to walk from the hotel to the Petronas Towers. What an impressive site with the beautiful fountains framing the gardens the stroll in the heat was well worth it. Our next stop was China Town to try out our bartering skills, the first purchase being a sarong but oh no not just any old sarong but one of many talents from a beach cover up to a top for evening mmmmm lets see. Purchase number 2 the […]
Photographing A Hidden Strength It never stops to amaze me the strength that humans show when there is a need, a hidden strength that we don’t always realize lies within us. I had the privilege to work with Jane Riley, a wonderful lady who was diagnosed with breast cancer and refused to let it beat her. Jane is an inspiration to us all and I was enthralled to hear her story of how she found an inner strength that gave her confidence that she hadn’t experienced before. Prior to the mastectomy Jane although wasn’t timid didn’t have the same outgoing nature and would stay in the background observing more than participating in general activities. To help her confidence grow even more Jane decided to pose for some artistic nude photographs at Elle Je Studio, something totally alien to her. Once we started on the artistic nude photo shoot I was pleasantly surprised to see Jane relax within the first 30 minutes and not only did we capture some stunning images but had great fun in the process. Her new confidence and strength oozed out of her, a delight for a photographer! Sadly one person is diagnosed with breast cancer every […]
