Ethiopia

Amazing Ethiopia.  I wasn’t sure what to expect on this trip but was blown away with the sites we saw.  I feel humble to have had the privilege to visit some of the different tribes in Southern Ethiopia.  At times it was disturbing to learn of some of the tribal rituals but certainly made you stop and think just how lucky we are in the UK.  The scenery was stunning and each time you went round a different corner it took your breath away.  A landscape unspoilt, no posts or cables, pylons or other pollution we see in our own landscapes.  Although many of the journeys were hard and tiring due to dusty and sandy roads it was well worth the occasional discomfort. Tribal People of India

Editorial Photography I was commissioned to photograph the primitive tribal people in Andhra Pradesh in the middle of India, for a charity called the Nandi Foundation  who work with the tribal people to help them generate more income from their small coffee plantation plots.  In addition they feed 1million children each month, build schools in the villages and provide uniforms for the children.  One of the most important activities is to get sponsors for the “girl child” to educate them and keep them safe.  Girls are still killed in the rural and tribal parts of India.  To read more about my experiences while photographing the tribes read my blog The Gems of Araku Tribal People
